Very unfortunate weekend for us again. Saw 9 Saturday morning. The last doe I had a good shot at so I took it. She was at 27 yards and I put the my 20 just on her back which would put the 30 right at her heart. Which technically means I should of hit lungs. Well luck was not with me and I have no idea what happened. The arrow hit really high and just under spine. Arrow did not pass through. Waited over an hour and looked for blood. We had an awesome opening weekend! No deer down, but very eventful. First morning we had the doe and twins we've had on the trail cameras visit both stand sites and that was it for the rest of the day. The next morning was looking up for my stand. The doe and twins came in again and hung out for awhile. I decided to stand up when the doe looked the other way and when she looked back it was like a light switch got turned on. Well season is finally here. I just have to go to school tomorrow and then work till 8:30 and I'm free. I'll be heading up to Mora after work and we'll be out in the stands around 5:30 a.m. I've been anticipating this season more than any other. I just can't wait for saturday morning. Well the buck we've been waiting for all summer has returned in a big way too! This is buddy whom Kelsey and I have some history with. We watched this deer sprout into a main frame 10 last summer and we never got a crack at him during season. Although, he was hanging around the property all year. Finally after not having a picture of him since December 31, 2008 he showed up 5 days ago. This is Buddy's 2009 rack and we are just pumped to hunt for this buck.
