opening day with new omega today...shot a 7pt. about 20 feet from ladder this morning.....text book broadside, no exit wound????. did not hit far shoulder blade either & could not locate bullet. went 20 yards then fell over dead. shot a big doe tonite, about 60,70 yards away, blew right threw her!!! broke shoulder on the exit wound. went at least 100 yards & i had to use a follow up shot to finish her. very strange results i think????..i am using t/c 240 grain xtp, & 2-50 grain pellets of 777. is it possible im getting mixed results from this sabots??.... thanks

Congrats on your hunting success.

Nope, the bullets worked just fine. On the very close range shot, the bullet had higher velocty and basically fragged inside the deer. It acted like a varmint bullet. On the longer range deer, the velocity was lower so the expansion was not as violent. The bullet did its typical expansion and plowed through the deer.
