I would fire the gun off, give it a good cleaning, making sure to put anti seize on the breech plug, and put it away till next year. BP is susceptible to moisture, and knowing how humid it is down there, I wouldn't want to risk having a misfire the next year. I think to that it's possible that only a fraction of the powder may fire, leaving the bullet stuck in the barrel

If the weather is good during your hunt, and you don't get any moisture in the barrel, I'd just take out the primer. but if theres any chance that you may have moisture in the barrel, take out the breech plug, and push the bullet and powder out.(this will save you a bullet, and you want have to clean your gun)

Yep, right on the threads, may not hurt to put some on the threads of the nipple also, making sure to not get any in the hole/s

What part of Central Florida you in?

I remove the breech plug and push everything out with the ram rod. The only thing I replace is the plastic sabot piece. The projectile and Pyrodex pellets are still good.
    Why waste it?

Everyone told me to just fire it off and have done with it, but I also hate to clean my ML so if I can get out of a through cleaning then I do.. LOL
    Yes I am lazy...

(For the record I do clean it before storing it, but if it was unfired then its not as much of a job to clean it. Mine is not left fouled from sighting in. I clean it after evey shot and again when done sighting in so when I hit the field for hutning its basically spotless.)
