Spit Patch

Talk to Knight rep about accuracy out of a 45 cal disc elite and he thought I was cleaning the barrel too much, I put 1 patch with windex thru and 3 dry patches thru between shots. He suggested 1 spit patch and nothing else. Is anyone doing this? If so, when out hunting do leave a load in the barrel for several days without cleaning it any better than 1 spit patch? He also suggested switching from powerbelts to 195 gr barnes with the brown sabots. Thanks in advance.

I run one spit patch followed by one dry.
As far as switching from Power Belts to Barnes. That is probably a smart move. Well, let me explain.
Some guns shoot well with PB and they are easier to load than most sabots but in general they are not top performers in the bullet world.

HadeRonDa, do you do the same thing for hunting? I have been hunting with a clean barrel in the past and leaving a load for up to 4 days in the gun. I am a little concerned about not cleaning the gun and breech plug better when the load will remain in the gun for a few days.

Reward, Yes I do do the same for hunting.
As far as leaving the load in for several days. Honestly it all depends on the weather and temperature.
During cool weather I do not bring my gun inside. that is right. It stays outside with the dog. If you do it will form condensate on the outside of the barrel as well as inside and foul or increase your chance on fouling your powder.

Our muzzle season is around 10 days, and unless I fire it at a deer, the gun is loaded till end of season.
I leave my gun in the garage so it doesn't get the hot and cold from the house. HaDe is correct.
I'm not sure about the spit patches
What is the big deal about not running a dry patch after a wet one ?? I run a windex patch, then a dry one, sometimes 2 dri ones.! It isn't like they are alot of $$ LOL.
