    Weight and barel length?

The heavier gun will have less felt recoil, the longer barrel will have more also.

I think that the tolerance level on the bore of a 50cal ml is pretty wide. I would think that if the bore of one is even slightly smaller than the next that the added friction would make a big difference in recoil. Possibly the number of grooves and the rate of twist in the bore might cause a difference.

If the buttstock on the Wolf is hollow, you may be able to remove the recoil pad,put in about 1 1/2 or 2 lbs of lead and then fill the buttstock with expanding foam or any other type of filler that will turn solid and then reinstall the recoil pad..

I did it to a CVA magBolt muzzleloader and it really reduced the felt recoil.

Like John said weight is a big factor in recoil. Other deciding factors are stock design and recoil pad firmness. A softer pad will give the shooter a milder punch as it will absorb some of the kick. The drop at the comb, and the pitch of the butt can also give different feelings of the same abount of recoil.
