    Default Rust on my breech plug???

    Somehow I got a few spots of rust on my breech plug. It been hard to get off and i was think about soaking it in something, what should i use or should i just get a new one?

    Any solvent and a wire brush will work. Breech plugs are cheap and Cabela's carry's a good selection for the majors.

    believe it or not coke works pretty good on rust....be sure too lube it again though

    I have used a dremel tool with a wire brush to good effect too. I would not use it on a blued surface though but since most breechplugs are stainless it just brightens thing up with little effort. I would be lost without my good old dremel.
