is cva muzzleloaders accurate

i was looking to buy a muzzleloader this year and i was wondering if any body could tell me if the cva
buckhorn magnum was worth having or would i be wasting my money. and if it is any good what would be the best powder and shell to use in it.. i would greatly appreciate any info someone could give .

I have a CVA Staghorn Magnum......It's a cheap BP rifle, but it will drive nails at 100yds
I use two 50gr pyrodex pellets and shoot Powerbelt bullits in mine( cant remember what grain they are)
I put a hefty Knott County buck in the freezer with mine during the first muzzleloader season.

I have a CVA hunterbolt magnum. I use the pyrodex powder. I shot 225gr hollow points 45 cal. I can hit dead center at 100 yds.

Never used a cva but you might want to put this question down in the muzzelloader room. Alot of muzzelloader hunters down there i'm sure someone will have some input. Goodluck

i have the wolf...and i can easily take deer at 100 yards with open sights....im sure if i put a scope on it i wouldnt hesistate a 150+ yard shot

I have a CVA Optima Pro and can shoot 1-2" groups out to 150 yards with 2 pyrodex pellets and powerbelt bullets. Well worth the money IMO.

I have the fire bolt 45 cal magnum I shoot the 195 grain power belt bullet with 100 grains of powerdex I wouldnt be afraid at all to shoot at a deer at 150 yrds I have killed several deer with this combo it is unreal what they will do to a deer.I took my sites off and put my scope flat on barrel it is a shooting out fit.And it dont kick at all I let my friends wife hunt with it she shoot it 6 or 7 times just getting use to gun she want weigh 100lbs soaking wet no recoil

I have 7 CVA inlines and the 4 that I shoot regularly shoot pretty cottin-pickin well. The others are virgins (50 & 54 cal)

One is a scoped 45cal Firebolt that is decent shooter in my estimation. I just fired a 4-shot string at 200 yards that had 3.5" of vertical elevation. Just had to try it and see how it'd do. That one seems to like the 200gr SST with the tan MMP sabot and the 200yd group reflects what 100 yard groups it tends to shoot. I just harvested a doe with this rifle, so it is now deflowered...

The 45cal firebolt with aftermarket fiber optics is a pretty fair shooter with the 175gr PRB .357dia Dead Center's and the blue MMP sabot. Not my best shooter, but pretty close. A standing deer at 150 yards has little chance were I to use this rifle.

My scoped 50cal Firebolts are both, solid 1.5-2.5" 3-shot group rifles using the 300gr QT bullets and std MMP sabot or the 348gr Powerbelts.

All of the above are powered by loose 2f 777 and Win209 primers, with the bore spit-patch cleaned between shots. None are fired with a charge greater than 100gr and all seem to perform best in that 90-100gr range.

A lot of folks don't like the CVA's with concerns over barrel testing procedures. I use mine within reason (limited bullet weight, low charges) and am pretty certain that these rifles will outlive me.

I had a hunterbolt magnum and loved it. I shot my buck at 150 yds perfect. Use 100 grains of pyrodex powder with Hornaday speed loads, not sure on the grain.

I only spent 120 on the gun and loved it. they are definitly worth the money.

i PURCHASED A HUNTERBOLT 209 MAGNUM FROM CABELAS AND IT CAME WITH A SCOPE NICKEL PLATING CLEANS EASY I RECOMEND IT

I have a CVA Optima and I couldn't ask for anything better. (Price wise that is.) I don't need to shoot over 80 yards where I hunt, but I've sure my Optima could do it if needed.

I hunt with the Hunterbolt Mag. I put a bushnell 3.9X35 scope on it with see-thru rings. This was my first season hunting ML and I harvested a doe at 60 yds. She went 20 yds and expired.
I sighted it in at 2 inches high at 100 yds. I was shooting 2" groups at 100 yds. I wouldn't hesitate to shoot 150 yds.

It is the first ML I ever owned but I am very pleased with the gun.
