    Default Breech plug problem

I purchased a TC Omega this spring and have loved it. This Saturday after using it I took it apart and cleaned it and put the super lube on the breech plug. Sunday I took it out and sighted in a new scope. Took 8 shots. Got it home and went to clean it and the breech plug wont come out. Any tips or suggestions on how to remove it

Use a 7/16" 6 point socket and a ratchet. It's better than the junk TC gives you.

Yeah I agree. It is better but no one in this industry thinks they are going to get a chrome wrench.
A ratchet is faster as well. Deep well works best IMO.
Notice that AJ said 6 point!!! NOT a 12 point socket.

Here is a tip for getting it unstuck with TC's wrench. lay your ML down on the floor with the barrel muzzle facing the left. Put your wrench on so that the handle slightly holds your ML off the floor. Now push to make the ML hit the floor. If that doesn't work, take a dash of trans fluid and brake fluid and pour it down the barrel. Let it soak overnight and then turn repeat the same process all over. This usually does it for stubborn plugs.
Remember to grease those threads a bit more liberally next time. Teflon tape works great but so does graphite anti-seize. Using the overpriced Superlube is not necessary. And do not crank that plug down like you are tightening a lug nut on your truck.

Thanks guys. I'll give it a try. The gunsmith at TC said to just shoot it till season was over and then send it in but I don't like that idea very much

Dont snug it up too much, all you have to do is carefully turn until it locks in place. Use very little pressure and this will help alot. Goodluck

My TC Black Diamond did the same thing once. I used a 6 point socket and ratchet also. Worked fine. Had to use 1/4 " drive though, as the extension just fit through.
I don't tighten the plug as tightly as I used to. I also use a little more Gorilla Grease on the threads.

I've never had a problem with my BD, but I do what LETMGROW says and I use a liberal amount of grease on the threads of both the breach plug and nipple, careful not to get any on the business end of either. DO NOT over torque them when you put them back in the barrel! It isn't required. I hand tighten and then put the wrench on and snug it. That's it. Even after a good long day at the range where I may shoot 20+ shots, I've never had a problem getting the plug out.
