A few CVA Questions

I was looking through my fall Cabelas catalog last night.Looks like everyone making a muzzleloader similiar to the Apex now and you can find em in any price range from a little over 200$ to closer to 700$ from most of the better known companies in muzzleloading.

How did everyone start making hese so fast, isnt there patents or anything involved in that industry?

I think patents make it easier for a company to copy your design, as long as they pay you for using your design, Coca-Cola has never been patented because they don't want other companies making the same formula, they have to put the ingredients, therefore you got all those knockoff soda's, but none of them taste exactly like Coke.

There was some talk about banning the Savage smokeless M/L, here in Indiana but that was dropped, and they are legal. However I have been on another forum and it seems that some of these Savage M/L 10-II have blown up on some including an expert during testing. So If you should purchase one I'd strongly suggest using Triple "777" or Pyrodex RS and NOT any type Modern Smokeless powder. I am certain (without owning one) they are fine M/L's otherwise just use the B.P. Subsitutes though to be safe.

What are the "some" that you speak of? I only know of Toby's gun that had 7500 rounds through it when it let go. Who had the others?

Not to try to ruffle your feathers, but what qualifies you to say that? Do you know the cause of the failure? I have seen T/C guns blown up, should they be limited in use?

Its not that I am touchy about certain subjects, I am touchy about BS and misinformation. Thats all.

I am just reporting what I've read about the Savage "Smokeless" M-10-II's and I DON'T WANT to get into an argument concerning it, OKAY???

I see this post was started 9-03-04, so it has been around awhile. CVA claims to sell more muzzleloaders than anyone else, and maybe they do. If it fits you and shoots fine, then why nock it LOL. There are alot of people who shoot the .45 now. I agree with some of the others though. If I only owned one it would be the .50, simply because of it's versatility !

Ive got the cva hunterbolt mag. With no scope at 50yds i can keep em touchin Id just stick with the cva and save a couple hundred bucks.
