    Default Montec buzz

Anyone else who shoots the G5 Montecs notice that they buzz a little in flight. I think it has something to do wtih the air passing through the head and the way they are shaped. It's not super loud, but definitely louder than other heads I've shot. It's hard not to love these things they shoot so darn perfect, but I think this is the only downside. Anyone else experienced this? I haven't found any way of correcting it.

Superguide jr. shoots them and all he hears is that thump when it whacks a deer.

I think to a certain degree all fluted or cut out blades will create a noise as wind passes over and threw them. The benifit is a cross wind will not press against the blades and alter flight vs a solid blade may.
    However you will hear noise.

If ever given the chance, and you trust the archer, stand down range about 1/2 way and have someone shoot past you. Not close by you but about 20 or so feet out from you.
ALL arrows make a noise as they fly by.
It was an eye opening thing to hear IMHO.

You can definately hear an arrow coming and going by.
    This was with field tips........

So those that think fast bows will cause a deer to not jump the string, even super quiet bows, the arrow is what they hear in most cases not your bow.

Thats funny thats all I hear when my Razorcaps hit one. Broadheads as well as the fletching make some noise as they travel down range. Some are just a little louder than others .

Yes. That is a big reason why I never bought the Montec hunting heads.

I wrote the company and they mentioned switching to vanes as an improvemnt - it did help. However, I think the buzzing comes from the edges of the ferrel as they are squared-off and quite angular - probably a byproduct of the monoflow technology.

However, they fly great and hit like a sledgehammer.
