When, What, and Where?

When was your first bowkill?, What was it? and where?..............
Mine was last season on opening weekend in Brady , Texas. I had bowhunted for a few years and really got into it last season. I ended up with a complete pass thru at 12 yards on a 105 3/8 P&Y buck with 9 points. Hunted hard for the month of October and saw not one single doe, but 24 sightings of 16 different bucks. It was awesome and I am ready for October to get here.

My first bowkill was on Ft Bragg, NC. The date was 17 Sept, 1992. This was my 1st year bowhunting, and probably the 3rd time out. The spike buck (still in velvet) came through browsing about 30 minutes after sun-up. I drew back once on him expecting him to walk from behind the tree and he didn't. He was 28 yards out. I let down and that's when the arrow popped off the string and fell 30 ft. He didn't pay any attention, so I slowly nocked another one. Finally he walked out and stopped. I got zoned out, drew my bow, aimed, and like auto-pilot, the arrow just took off. It seemed like slow-mo headed toward the deer. But it nailed him right through the heart quartering away. He ran 40 yards and plowed into the dirt. No lie, the heart had a 3-blade cut right through it. I've never done that again on several more deer.

first bow kill was 1984, small 3 pt. at 30 yards. It was in penn. Friend was hunting with me and the next day he took his first bow buck. I've just realized that I've been doing this for awile.

Just a few days ago...left school in north GA a little early and skipped a few classes. Headed down to my hunting property for a long weekend of hunting. During one of my sits, i had 2 does and 2 fawns headin down a trail right to me, and my first ever shot at a whitetail hit home. bout a 100lb doe

2003, 10 pointer, Lake County Indiana - There were lots of movement from deer on the way in to my stand so I decided to go to Walmart and get some doe in heat urine. Dragged it all over the place near my stand - got up there and 5 minutes later, the 10 pointer came walking in to sniff the rag I posted.

Shot him at about 15-20 yards - double lung. The time was 12:03. I've been addicted ever since.

October 13, 1999. I shot a button buck yearling with my buddies Browning Mirage Blue Jacket carbon arrow, Spitfire 100gr. BH. Through the spine, then shot him again through the lungs at only 5 yds. The best part was that my buddy got it all on tape. Over the shoulder shot with commentary. Remember it like it was yesterday.
