Try a doe in heat drag through your area and end up passing your stand before you sit. Good luck. P.S.
dont forget to freshen your drag as you go so the trails fresh to your stand instead of being freshest where you started.

That drag rag is a pretty good idea. Just another little tip here for everyone that I picked up while watching a Primos video. Well I don't know if I would call it a tip or just some common sense, but it has helped me. When you plan on calling or rattling to or for deer to come to you, it's best to have some cover behind you/around you, or a holler(sp?)/ravine near you. That way when you rattle/call to him/her they MUST come to you to check what is in the cover/holler or near there. If you are in the open in a tree or on the ground in the woods, that deer is more than likely NOT going to come because they will be able to stop about 60 or so yards out and look for what is making the noise. If that buck or doe doesn't see anything, you can forget them coming any closer. Now while this isn't always the case, I have seen it time and time again where I have been out in the open and couldn't get them to come close enough for a shot. Pretty frustrating. So I picked up that little tidbit in the video and am using it this year. I believe Will Primos said it best, but don't quote me exactly on this. It went something like, You can't hunt that buck where he is, you have to hunt him where he is going to be. Keep at it, you'll get em!

Drag is a good idea like they said. A bleat call maybe would work also if your setup is good for one. As huntrman said best to have some cover or somthing behind you so they have to come in to looke for whats making the noise.

All great ideas. If you call and are on the ground, move after you hit the bleat, preferable downwind about 50 yards. This may help you get a bit closer as he moves downwind to get a scent. You'll be right on top of him.

    Just a suggestion.

Push your luck! Its the rut! Chances are you'll never see that buck again regardless if you spook him or not...
