Today, we took a ride to New England Field & Stream, our local archery shop. Jen shot a Hoyt, Trykon Sport. It was a 40 to 50 pound bow, that was pulling 38- 39 pounds all the way backed out. I was worried about the weight, as she had trouble with the Outback at 40 pounds. She had no trouble at all, and said it felt easier then the Outback at 32 pounds. The owner set up the bow with a rest and a sight, and we were off to the range. After a couple shots to sight the bow in, Jen was consistently hitting 9's and 10's on a Vegas target at 20 yards, with a bow that she has never shot before, and he first time shooting without a peep. I was impressed!!! Before we walked out, we ordered a Hoyt Selena, 26"-28.5", 30-40 lbs, in Riptide Blue. I'm jealous...lol
After we left the archery shop, we headed to Algonquin Archers, the club we just joined, for a quick trip around the 12 targets that are out. Jen shot extremely well, with me giving no yardage hints. Here are some pics from this afternoon.
Jen trying her hardest to robin hood my arrow on a bedded doe...to bad I was up in the 5!!!
Jen looking for redemption on the standing bear...she deflected off a branch, and lost an arrow on this target last week. She redeemed herself nicely!
Me shooting the standing bear...Jen got a solid 8, I got a 5!
2 10's on a Javelina. Yeah, they're a bit forward, but they are 10's...HONEST!!!!
Me bundled up, about to take a shot...
Jen about to take a poke at a 35 yard turkey....
