    Default Where would you hunt?

    Hey there guys, I am having a little trouble finding potential stand sites. Where would you guys hunt?

    if it were me i like to look for pockets.

    Simplest way to setup a stand is to get between the food and the bedding ... anyway you can ... you will for sure see deer and then from there you have to fine tune.

    I would check out the end of the ridges where they go down to the bottom of a valley...prefferably ag land

    I'd get in the woods and simply look for sign...then go from there.

    I'm not very good with topo's.I think aerial photos are a little better at showing you what's really there.I generally try to focus on funnels that push deer into certain areas or draws where 3 or 4 ridges come together.

    If it were me, I'd be scouting the the two valleys bordering the hill at the right hand center portion of that map. Where the meet at the bottom of the north side of that hill seems like a very good place for an intersection of runs with a watering hole as a place of destination..
