    Default Going Rate?

Was in a local gun shop today at lunch looking around and got to talking to the owner about one thing or another. We got to talking about bowhunting and somehow or another, we got to talking about fletching arrows. They asked if I knew anybody locally who did it. I said, "I do." ANd with that, they said that they would indeed send me some business this year.

So, here is my question. What is the going rate per arrow. Called a couple of shops around here just to ask and they said they get $3 per arrow and $1 per wrap. Is this high, low or what. Looking forward to the input.

Who's providing the material? If they are I'd say it should range about $2 for a 3 fletch; $2.50 for 4 fletch arrow and $.50/wrap.

Here it is $2 to strip any old fletchings and put new ones on including all materials.

I was thinking about $2.50 to $3.00 per arrow and then $1 extra for a wrap. I will provide all the materials. Blazer vanes, which most are using today, are not cheap. Wraps are about $13.00 a dozen around here. You have the time it takes to strip off the old vanes, clean the shafts and then put the wraps and fletchings back on. Don't think $2.50 to $3.00 an arrow is a bad deal.

I think you are ok with those prices, especially if you are providing the material.

My shop does $3 and arrow with the cost of fletching and/or wrap. The price varies on all the different fletchings, but we are currently selling our wraps for $1.25 each.

yep between 2 and 3 bucks an arrow around here. so if you are going to spend that kind of money.

buy a Grayling fletcher, some glue and a some fletch and practice during the winter and summer. then by fall you will be doing your own arrows. just think of it, you invest 45 bucks and can do your own for just the cost of fletching and glue. and a small jar of acetone.

i did this last year and i cant believe how easy it is to fletch arrows. i made it out to be this hard thing and its so easy i should have started 20 years ago.

I charge 3.50 an arrow at our store and I am just about the cheapest in town .... and deffinately the fastest other shops you have to wait 10 days or more ... I can get your arrows fletched within 2 days. Believe it or not that is a selling point also.

Around here it's 2 or 3 bucks an arrow and many times they can cut and fletch your arrows while you're there.
