You've been looking for this big joker all year saving a tag just for him. It's down to the last evening and he finally steps out at 42 yards without a drop of wind..............Do you eat tag soup?

My 40 yard pin would be set on that deer in the middle of the square made up by the second and third red and yellow dots. Whether or not I release my arrow would all depend on how I felt about the shot at that very point in time.

Tag soup and a lot of tears! 42 is out of my comfort zone.
I took my first buck ever at 41 yds, so 42 is not a stretch, although I wouldn't make a habit out of shooting that far. I would put my single pin tru-glo right on that top yellow dot. I have about 6 inches of drop at that distance. With that Rage 2 leadin my arrow's charge, that buck would drop in 30 yds.

yellow 3, but he's never going to wait for me to pull and shoot.

Second yellow from the bottom.... I'd be pretty confident with that shot.
I figure God only gave me so many sunrises, I might as well not miss one.

I know I can kill him, but the buck is looking right at me trying to catch my scent. What his nose might not pick up, his eyes will at the draw.
Wait until he turns his head and then 2nd or 3rd yellow.
Tag soup.............I don't shoot that far.

Next to bottom yellow. He is not on full alert and the sun is in his eyes. Actually looks like he is scent checking for a hot doe.
I've got pins out to 60 yards. Second yellow dot from the bottom and I'd be calling up hunting buddies to have a look at my new trophy....probably.
Yellow #2
Don't cry because it's over, smile because you were there.
Last day of the season...this deer has been hunted! 42 yards, and looking right at me....Hope he is bigger next year.
