Default Bowhunter's Pick a spot 8 with scenarios

For all you long distance hot shots!!

You're in Colorado on a one week hunt. It's down to the next to last day, the last bit of light is slipping fast, you haven't filled a tag, this bruiser steps out at 51.5 yards, you haven't seen a buck of this caliber all week, would you let him walk hoping to see him the next day or would you take the shot?

    Now that one is tough.

    Geez.

    51 yards.

OK, if I'm out hunting mulies, I'm going to assume I've practiced out to 60 yards, but, 51 yards, slight quarter to.

Sadly, I think I pass on that deer.

Normally I pass this shot, on distance...the angle is doable for me, barely. If I'm in Colorado, and I'm hunting Muley, I'm gonna be well practiced out to 50 yards. My 50 pin is gonna be in the area of the green dots, 2nd, and 3rd from the top. Really gonna hate myself if I make a bad shot.

No guts no glory...............If I'm going to colorado I'm gonna be shooting a 7 pin sight that I can practice out to 80 so I should be good to 50 all day long. When he looks away I'm launching a pumpstation seeking missile tipped with a buzzcut right between 2 green and 2 yellow.

2nd green would be the shot, but at 51 yards i think i would have to let him pass, thats a fairly long shot and to try to slip threw that shoulder bone might not get much penatration, hopefuly i could catch up to him tomorrow.

I passed a big whitetail 2 years back..I figured he was at about 50yds...I paced it off at 51 when I climbed down. Im gonna have to let this dude go too. Until I practice more at long shots anyways.

No bow fast enough to make that shot with him looking at you and 51 yards aways...he'll more than likely flinch, duck/jump the string...best case, you wound him and get lucky to hit something vital....No shot for me!

Right between yel 3 and green 3. I aint going to CO without being good at 50. The shoulder scares me, I dont know squat about muley anatomy, but that boy looks like a bruiser and I bet there's a LOT of bone in that shoulder.

I'd let it walk, I don't hunt Mule deer. Ha Ha Well, if I did hunt them it would have to be an arrow through the 2nd green from the top.
