I can't imagine the wound from a two blade closing up before the deer dies. I won't be switching from a two blade any time soon.

Besides, I had a bad experience with a 3 blade last year. It doesn't get enough penetration.

I have used them both more expierience with the 3 blade i have taken several deer always had great blood trails. I switched to the two blade this year out of curiosity shot one deer a buck had an awesome hole and the deer only went about 75 yards but blood trail was not great i didnt find blood until about 10 yards from the deer and the arrow was almost clean. the shot was rite through the lungs just above the heart. the deer only lived about 10 seconds but again blood trail was almost non existent. To be fair though its possible i was not walking the same line as the deer took however i thought that i was

Shot a 5-point with a 2-blade Rage, shot him right in the shoulder and the broadhead went through the shoulder and exited behind the opposite shoulder. Total, complete devastation with a nice blood trail that lasted 40 yards. I was very impressed with the toughness of this head, it's been sharpened and back in my quiver.

In my very limited expierience i personally feel that it did for my case the 3 blades have always left good blood trails. The 2 blade didnt have a good trail in my one expierience but i know of people that tell you there trail looked like you spray painted it!

I'm right there with you all. Been wondering the same thing. Pic below is from a 2 blade RM Gator XP (about the same thing as the rage 2 bade). The broadhead made a 2 inch slice through the heart. Found the deer about 100 yards from the shot spot. Found it 10 minutes after the shot - very dead! However, I never did find a blood trail. At first I thought the failing light may have been why, but after reading these posts I think there just wasn't one. There was blood all over where it fell, but nothing to lead me to it???

I'm sticking with the 2 blade for now though. I may try the 3 blade after reading stories about them here on the forums.

Guys, it's fairly common for a deer not to bleed for the first 15-20 yds. That has nothing to do with the broadhead. I'm sure you've cut yourself deep somewhere at some point in time. You have a few seconds before the blood starts coming. Same concept with deer.

Bghunter, of course you're not gonna find a blood trail if you weren't following where the deer went after it was shot! You'd know if you were following the deer's trail after it was lung shot with a Rage 2.

You will actually get better penetration with the 3 blade vs the 2 blade. The smaller cutting diameter (3blade) encounters less resistance than the larger cutting diameter(2 blade). They prove it out on their commercials, as well.

I've seen the studies and heard the testimonies. I'm sure it could be true, but the one time I did use this head, I wasn't happy with its performance.

you wont get a hold closed up with your 2 blade's, sounds like a freak accident, not sure why, but I have shot and seen several deer shot with rage 2 blade and the smalled hole I have see is a 1.5in entrance hole, when one blade folded over after skippin of a rock. I think maybe you just god a funny impact or something, give them one more try.
