My dad and I got drawn for zone 47 mulie in sk. this year. We went out friday, and saw bucks everywhere. We saw around a dozen bucks, half of them mature. Both of us could have tagged out on very nice bucks, but with us both having a long weekend coming up, we decided to keep looking for a monster. Also, no signs of rutting activity from the mulies. Next week will pick up for sure. Im very exited.

Also, not much to say for the whitetails. Theyre around, but havent seen anything too special... yet.

I have a couple buddies who got drawn for mules in zone 4, I know there are soem monstrers in there couse I seen them in august ,they seemed to hole up soemwere with the nice weather, they have hunted 4 strait days and 2 nights after work and walked miles and miles of draws and seen 1 buck in the 170 range with weak front forks and 2 more in the high 150'5 and only abotu 15 little guys, they are seeing up to 100 does a day though and in heards of up to 20, I went out with him last night to were I seen a good 180" 2 weeks ago and a really wide one not sure how good but nice looking from a distance, we walked every draw and every slough bottom, put up tons of does and 2 spikes! The bucks are just sittigjn away from the bush in the fields I believe, we have checked everywere else!!
I did see 2 140-150" whitetail last night one was bedded in a standing wheat crop, they were both older deer so i sure hope I can get one for my brother coming from medicine hat and my duaghter, they will both flip if they get a deer like that!!I just hope one of them od not jump up and give me a 10 second decision whether to shoot or not couse they sure looked good untill I glassed for a while, sure is ahrd to tell a 150" deer from a 165-170 in a few seconds!!
BTW it sure would be a good deer to save for buckee if he ever coems out to hunt with me LOL!!

Slow up here, glad I'm done hunting a buck. They sure have disappeared, warm weather and the three weeks they've been blasted at by the moose hunters has made them more nocturnal than usual. I saw one big buck this weekend and I jumped him on my way through a clearcut to where my brother was hanging from a jackpine. He was bedded alone. Like I said, it's slow up here.

It's quiet because we're all out hunting. We've got the earliest snow I've seen for years. Deer are absolutely everywhere. The rut is just starting to show signs of action. Heard rumors of some Monster Muleys being sighted. Taking off Remembrance Day to set up my wall tent in one of my Honey Holes. Ain't coming out until the 22nd. 11 days straight of chasing the Big Boys. Hopefully I'll have a Slammer on the ground by the end of my holidays. Or else I'll be back to being a weekend warrior through DEC 10th. Living by the motto, "GO BIG OR GO HOME!!!" I've passed on a few already this year that most guys would give their right arm for. Just wasn't what I'm looking for though. I want a trashy 200+ incher or bust.

Those big fellas are around but are only making cameo appearances right now. It is a little slow but they're starting to move, at least in the archery only zone. There isn't a ton of pressure in the area right now. Going out tommorrow night to a sweet spot if the wind holds. Gotta pray real hard!
