    Default ground blinds

This is for the canadian deer hunters. Do any of you hunt out of ground blinds. If so do they retain your body heat in cold temperatures.

Not really-but a little heater keeps them pretty toasty-they do keep the wind out to some extent though.

Never hunted deer out of a ground blind, but I have hunted timberwolves out of them. it's basically a 4x4x6 or 5x5x6 shack on the ground. I use 4 candles, one in each corner. It can be -20 out and those 4 candles sure take the chill off. It doesn't take much.

Thanks for the replies. I was thinking of buying one of the coleman sportcat heaters.

We've made our own ground blinds we used old hockey sticks and burlap. The blinds remain up in the spots where they're built in the spring for turkey that way they've discoloured a little for the fall. However I find the burlap doesn't cut the wind too much.

Put a roll of toilet paper in a metal coffee can-than pour a jufg of methyl hydtrate on it so it soaks it up-you can light that and it will keep you toasty for quite awhile. An old armchair works good in there too to keep the chill off your back.

    Hi
I use ground blind alot when I hunt fresh logged areas. I use a pop up style with a chair and a Colman Black Cat heater. The small bottle lasts about 8 hrs. (2000 btu) One of my hunters killed a 160 buck out of one of my blinds at 40 yards.

I used my pop up ground blind with the Coleman sportcat. I had deer come within 50 yards or so. They never even knew i was there.
