    Default World Record Trout???

Hey you Canadian outdoorsman, I saw that the world record trout (rainbow) was caught on Diefenbaker lake in Sakatchewan and I have seen no mention of it on here. Any of you guys do any trout fishing or have any ideas on where they caught it, etc??? I am heading to Sask. over the Sept. Long Weekend, and am looking for something to do....even for a day, to get out of the in-laws :-) I was wondering if any of you have any suggestions, etc. I haven't been on the site in a while but Bret, are you out there??? :-)

43.6 lb World record Rainbow Trout.

Caught on June 5th (Lake Deifenbaker). June 6th weighed at prairie meats
    On
A certified scale at 43.6lbs. Beating the previous All tackle record of
42.1lbs caught in 1970 in Alaska.

This is the new World Record Rainbow Trout caught by twin brothers from
Saskatoon at Diefenbaker lake. These guys have been catching lots of BIG
Fish down there and previously caught the provincial and Canadian
    Records.
The previous world record was caught in Alaska and weighed 42 lbs.
    Everything grows big in Saskatchewan

thanks buckee,I had that e-mail and must of deleted it, I had a 13 pounder I cought a few years back was so proud of that pic of a huge trout till I seen that pic, mine is just a minnow lol!! all the trout in defenbaker got out of a fish farm after a storm a few years back, It was at the northern part by outlook I believe, they are catching alot just were the sask river goes in, they have sure grown and moved in a few years! I believe the fish farm was a netted enclosure,a storm ripped the nets!

    What a fish!

Interestingly, there have been some huge rainbows caught in B.C. over the years. The following link refers to a 52 pounder, although it wasn't caught on recreational tackle; take a look in the first paragraph under 'Trout'. I saw a book once that refers to this fish and others of almost equal size, but my googling failed to find any reference to it.
