My 2010 late season Montana buck!!!

Well, the story with this buck is pretty short. Last year I hunted hard after a buck I called phantom. And another buck I called hoss. Never got either of the bucks and one of them was killed by another hunter late season and scored 177 and some change. So I decided to shoot this guy! Not too big but the first buck I'd shot in over 4 years and I wanted a little meat in the freezer. Almost all of the meat went toward my homemade blend of jerky and was pretty dang good!
This year I got at least one buck on my hit list and hope to have more as it gets closer to huntin season. The buck on my hit list this year I call wide guy. Last year he looked like he was already around the 23 or wider mark so there is good potential for him this year. All from Montana...

Nope never had him scored. A buck I got a few years back looked very similar to this one and it scored 155, however this one is not that big...I'll post another picture up here soon. This is only the second buck I've ever taken and the 1st in about 4 years so I was happy to put one on the ground and get some good meat!!!

Sorry about the typo! I hate when I do that. I haven't taken a buck (except for Minnesota) in several years myself - and certainly not as big as that one.

I'd say you got the blue tounge, Pap hit the ranch in Ismay last week and said they got hit hard down there. Good luck on the wide guy, when I'm hunting pennsylvania I hold out for a 6 x 6. 6" high and at least 6" wide. LOL

Stinger-Hunter- Yeah it's nice to take a buck after such a long time.
J beck- Yeah I guess we got it pretty bad in the State of Montana this year. Luckily it has froze the last couple of nights so that should end the blue tongue! And I guess out by my fokes they didn't get hit at all so that's a huge plus!!! I know the milk river got hit hard and our area did too about two years ago and wiped out about 90%. Not good for the deer populations, but they are slowly coming back. How's things lookin in your neck of the woods!?!

Nice buck bud! Im itchin to get out. Got an either sex antelope tag burning a whole in my pocket. Hopefully I can cut a couple notches in it in a couple weeks! Ive got 7 deer tags to fill this season too! Goin all out!
