Here I a buck I have only seen on camera. Once 2 years ago I had a pic of him walking through and now this one. How on earth do you hunt a ghost buck like this?

Hunt hard and scent free! LOL I'd try hunting moon phases, it might increase your chances if he's nocturnal.

My hopes are not high on seeing him, but there is also a cool double main beam buck on the farm I am after.

It nearly impossibe to hunt a deer that you only have two pics in two years and no visuals of. It's more likely that you will encounter him hunting another buck. Really nothing you can do, but get lucky until he presents you with more information.

    Pretty well put
Some people go to church and think about hunting. Others go hunting and think about God.

Pretty much what I figured. What time do you guys see most big mature deer? I've been told mid day is when they are usually out.

Usually my best time is around 30 minutes after first light and 30 minutes before dark but any time you are in the woods is a good time. My uncle and dad have shot a few good deer between 12 and 1 pm. Last deer i shot was @ 11:50 am

Reason I asked was I usually am in stand well before first light, or a few hrs before dark, and got to thinking the big boys are likely smart enough to figure out that most hunters leave the woods for lunch.

Yep...especially if it's 2 pics close to the same location. If they are 2 different locations, check your aerial photos & topo maps & try to figure out the easiest and safest (from his point of view) to get to and from both. Then put out some trail cams to cover those areas to try to learn more about him.

Some old bucks are too smart to hunt until the rut, might want to not pressure the area you know he is until the pre rut and then hunt the does hard leading into the rut. Those ladies can make an ol boy like that really mess up.

Best luck with mature bucks here has been either right at dark or the very first crack of light. Never had any luck with big bucks mid day.
