Yep know both of them. Gene had his buck officially scored at 230 3/8" gross and 222 7/8" net B&C. It is his 1st official B&C buck. He has quite a few other great bucks that fell a few inches short of B&C. The full story about hunting this spectacular buck will be published this year in about 4 magazines. The story of Gene's buck goes back 2 years. It is a great story that everyone will enjoy reading. Enough said for now.

About 8 years ago in MT we met the Wensel's on a back road while WT hunting. When they found we had 4 doe tags leftl, they offered to take us to one of their leases to thin the local population. Barry placed the 4 of us on stands (ground) while Gene swung up the creek bottom to push deer. The advice was to "let some deer pass each of you so your buddies get a shot too!" About 100+ does, fawns and young bucks paraded past over about a 20-minute time frame. We managed to shoot our does as they milled through a meadow along the creekbed.

Wish I had the $$ to hunt with them for the big'uns.
