Sounds like you have already tried to reason with them and be a nice guy. If they came on your land and stole a stand I would contact the sherriffs dept. Would also contact the warden and let him/her know what is going on. In the future I would make sure and engrave your stands with your name somewhere inconspicuous. As far as them setting stands on their property so long as they are not coming across your line there is nothing you can do on that.

I agree with wtn, contact DNR AND THE POLICE, Notify them as to what happened so it is documented, make sure you have NO TRESSPASSING SINGS clearly visible to the other property owners. You did the right thing by talking with them, if they were respectful people, then they would comply, i dont understand why they would put a feeder on the property line , it's just not POLITICALLY CORRECT to do that to you or anyone else for that matter !

Sounds like your hunting on our land. 3 sides and each is hunted heavy with big feed piles just 40yds or so from our property line. All we can hope is we can get the deer as they move through and go to their feed. What gets me is we have a 2 gallon limit for feed here in Michigan. If we rat them out we might see retaliation if they know its us and seeing that the bait piles are near our property line they will know who reported them. Next thing is they live up there so they can get us back through savataging our spots when we aren't there.

We have come to live with it. Nothing gets stolen just they hunt the fencelines which is legal, ethical is another issue but they aren't trespassing. All we can do is set-up and get the deer going to their feed. Its a shame it has to be that way but it is. To me its not hunting, its "waiting" Let them spend their money on their big bait piles, I will just set-up on runways and lay the smack down before the deer even get a chance to sniff a sugar beet or carrot.

Good luck with your situation. Try talking it out but if its like our situation, that won't work!!

Thats tough, unless you can prove they took your lock...can't really blame them! If they are hunting on their side of the line, not alot you can do. What I've done in the past, set up a stand on my side within eye sight of their stand and made sure I was in it before they were in theirs. Should have seen the look on his face at day break when I had on a camo shirt, blue jeans, orange hat and smoking a cig. BTW, I didn't have a bow with me either, just a camera around my neck in case he decided to come acrossed the line!

Contact the state troopers, I had a stand stolen and contacted the sherrifs and they did squat. We have the smae problem. During gun season they like to sweep our land and drive them out to their fields. It pisses me off because we hunt all bow season and still hunt with a gun. They do one drive and kill the biggest buckin there. I even seen them driving around with a pick up truck with a gunner in the back. When they see deer they floor it towards them and start shooting. We even came across a button buck on our land that was shot and had the backstraps ripped out. After this, we called the farmer and told him if we see any of this crap again, we will call the DEC. Had an argument, but haven't seen a hunter on our property since.

Nope, I knew the guy worked afternoon shift 4 to midnight...so I went out Fri. evening and set up my stand so it was sorta behind his when he was sitting. Kinda funny seeing his flashlight coming in the next morning and trying to sneak.
When it started to break light and he finally spotted me (about 20 yards away) I just waved and lit up another! He climbed down and stompped outta there. I went back a few days later and his stand was gone.
