Get some marking tape. As said above go to where you found blood and hair. I will get on the ground level to find blood and tracks if I have to and sometimes you have to crawl. Mark each place you last find tracks and blood with marking tape. Be careful if there is multiple sets of tracks to watch for indications that you are still on the deer you shot. High traffic area there can be several sets of tracks and it is not too hard to get on the wrong set, I have accidentally gotten on the wrong tracks after losing blood in the dark. If you lose blood and are not sure of the tracks go back to your last marked sign and try to retrace.
