Cool experience tonight!

Well I went out bohunting tonight, saw nothing from the stand but a gray squirrel. I get out of my stand, start walking up the field to go back to the car when I turn the cornerand see a deer on the tractor path. I get an arrow on my rest and decide to try and stalk it before it gets too late. I realize that what it is doing is making a scrape as I see it pawing the ground then sticking its head into some branches, way cool, never seen it done except on tv! Anyway he turns his back to me and starts to walk up the edge of the field, I stalking behind him. I keep walking until I see him stopped on the edge then this is where the cool part comes in. He turns and walks out onto the tractor path a little more, then turns right at me, puts his head down, gets all puffed up and starts doing that kind of strut/waddle thing like he is totally challenging me as another buck!! I stand there, bow up, he is about 40 yards way, I'm thinking "What if he charges me, scream and run?" lol Well he must have winded me or decided I wasn't a buck and ran into the woods. Man that was so awesome!

HAHA thats awesome! What were u wearing your rattling antlers on your head or what?! Never heard of that one before, cool experience though. I sorta have a similar story from last weekend where 3 does almost jumped a fence and landed on me,h aha.

Now that's cool. I never had one bluff me like that. One year though shooting light had run out and there was still a buck grunting at me I could not see. I got down and started to sneak out of the woods. Apparently he had heard my grunts and when he heard my foot steps he must have assumed I was anothe rbuck, or another deer at least. I never saw him, but he followed me halfway back to my uncle's house grunting at me lol.

LOL That makes you wonder who is being hunted! I've had that happen two times. Early season, i was watching buck on the ground, i grunted, and holy crap here he comes on dead run at me. He was long 40yds at the time i grunted! The other, i was speed walking/scouting,they cleared some pines out in lanes, it was rut, i scared some does..i look to my right, here comes this nice buck 16-17 wide, he see's me and comes running at me! He got 6 yds and turned and finally relized i wasn't a deer, phew....actually on that one i was thinking" WHY didn't you bring your bow"???
