Tough deal,, has she ever seen deer ? To me, just seeing deer makes the day, scroing is a plus. It all depends on the child. See how she reacts to talk about patience, the odds of a perfect shot. Perhaps you can hunt both spots. Again talk to her, see how she reacts. Some kids get to excited and missing, though common for us, would be a huge letdown..
Good luck,, its' always cool to take a young one hunting..

ask her, and let her decide. My advice would be to go to the funnel area. Hearing a deer walk through the woods at close range is what deer hunting is all about.

Well, 100% chance of seeing deer is always better than a 40% chance of seeing deer.Try not to get the impression you have to get her a deer her first time out, its an unrealistic expectation for you to have to try to live up to.It would be nice but its part of hunting.
Kids arent actually to hard to please as long as they see something, and you cant expect a whole lotta patience from them.Id almost guesse she would be alot happier sitting there for awhile and seeing deer with the possibility of a shot right at first light than sitting in a funnel for several hours without seeing anything.

Im not sure what your hunting with for a gun but with a rifle, if shes spent any amount of time practicing, 100 yrd shot with it might not be as difficult for her as you think, escpecially in an open field.

personally Id see what the weather and mostly the wind was doing that morning, explain to her the importance of keeping the wind in your favor and choosing your hunting spots based on that.If the wind isnt a factor in either spot just tell her the choices and let her decide

Kind of have to agree with horst on this. 100 yards with a rifle may not be too far. Wish I could get my 8 year old this weekend on the youth hunt, but Tennessee says they have to be 10-16 to be able to hunt the "youth" hunt this weekend. Have to wait for the ml the following week and she can take her deer then.

Have you considered the field in the afternoon? We see a lot more activity in our fields in the afternoons than we do in the mornings here.
