Got me on this one. Welcome to the forums.
no clue. i'd have to see the antlers to make a guess, but your theory about the hormone imbalance seems plausible
Wow, that is strange. You got me on that one.
Welcome to the forums BTW.
Injury or possibly an infection??????
That is really weird. Any chance you could get some pictures up so we could take a look?
My guess would be broken off during velvet stage. Could of ran into low hanging branches or something simular. I have seen 1 deer in my life, down in LA, that had one side just like that and the other was a real nice 8 pointer (1/2 of one anyways).
That was everybodies guess then.
Must of been there at some point this year to have 5" bases with scabbs.
JMO
Did "The Man" give you any grief over it? I'm guessing that they would be skeptical at first. You got to tag it as a doe, right?
I'm quessing, but it probally got hit by a car. I don't think any fight with another buck would be able to break off an antler, let alone both of them.
It could be some hormone problem. Seems like a likely explanation.
I hope you got to use a doe tag. here in ohio you would be able to.
Sounds odd to me! Welcomes to the forums! Try to get some pics up for us!
My wife saw a deer on the way home about a month ago that had 4 points on one side and nothing on the other. I'm guessing it probibly got hit by a car.
