I finally got a hold of the landowner of a very productive 5-acre piece that's adjacent to a large rock quary (no hunting).
I got my permission renewed (I check every year and take nothing for granted), and an update on the property.
Seems they have planted a "cover crop" in a small area. This turned out to be rye. Aso, they have fenced in their garden creating what should be some natural funnels. And, I got the OK to do some scouting this weekend.
Finally, they said my coworker should buy me a new skinning knife for getting him access too!
