    Default Successful T-Zone(Antlerless) Hunt!

No pics at present...maybe tonight. The reason I say "maybe" is because I'm not sure if any of the pics are going to turn out.

I did shoot a very nice doe and I'm hoping the pics will turn out. I don't believe shes the monster that tormented me while bowhunting (I think the neighbor got that one actually) but I did get a very nice mature doe.

I also shot 3 others...2 medium sized, one smaller.

Now before anyone freaks over me shooting 4 does...let me make it plain that "group" deer hunting is legal in WI. And even if it weren't, I had 4 antlerless tags of my own. Also, I hunt in an area of the state that is overrun with does. The ratio is reported to be 20 to 1. Lastly, my family consists of meat hunters, primarily, thus we always harvest does.

There were 6 of us that hunted but I'm the only one in the group that got anything. The others saw deer but they were either too far away or they were bucks and one said she got busted when her chair squeeked. The others started calling me "Hog" after the 3rd deer. However, I shared...I didn't take all 4 home for myself. We all have meat in our freezers and we've all enjoyed some fresh tenderloin!

One of the reasons the pics may not have turned out is because 3 out of 4 were shot at sundown and the light just wasn't good enough even with flash. And since the temps were higher than we would have wished for, we didn't waste any time skinning or cutting.

Anyway, I'll check out the pics tonight after work and if possible will post at least one for the contest.

Enough rambling...I'm post more details of the actual events in my journal as time permits.

If I shot 4 does my season would be over cause I don't have enough freezer space.

Well, I have two freezers but I didn't keep all 4. I shared with the rest of the group. Plus, we have another family living with us (with no steady income) at present and they all love venison.

Too much meat is never a problem. We have needy families in our church already asking for meat as well.
