    Default New Hunting Land

I have just aquired permission to hunt about 400 acres in Texas. I have been out there, and seen a lot of deer tracks, but no deer really. Would the deer tracks be a good place to put a stand near by? There are also a couple of clumps of oak trees, and some tanks. Let me know what you think i should go off of. Just needing someone with experience to teach me.

I usually put my stands off of the heavy used deer tracks.

If the oaks have acorns, the deer will be there sooner or later.

What other signs are you seeing? Any rub lines or scrapes?

Also, what area of the state are you hunting?

Might start by hanging a stand a little ways back off of a heavy trail.
