Heading to Minnesota

Ok, guys. I'm off to Park Rapids Minnesota tomorrow for Part 4 of my Deer-Killing Spree. So far I've been there 3 times and have totaled 4 deer. Should be more but the second time I was "guiding" my brother in law.

This year we are headed for private land, about 150 acres between two of us. There are two alfalfa fields about 5-10 acres each and last year we hunted only one afternoon there and there were so many deer that we ended up walking right into them and spooking about 15 that were feeding right in the middle.

This year we have better idea of the terrain, access trails, etc. I just bought a Summit climber and am totally pumped up!!

I will also be taking many many pictures and will be sure to post them on here upon my return. I should be hunting for a minimum of 3 days, maybe 4 - But I'm sure the tags will run out quickly.

Here's a little google image of our approximate hunting location - The area has an intensive harvest designation so each person can shoot 5 deer and there are 4 of us hunting. Should be rock and roll!!!

Your arrow is about 50-75 miles to far north, but you are in the right ball park.. I will be hunting about 75 miles north of you.

Our Minnesota opener should be pretty good, the bucks are really starting to chase does, weather is pretty steady. Saturday there is a chance of rain, temps up there should be low 40,s-upper 30's for daytime highs.

My coworker will be in Park Rapids hunting this weekend... small world... they pull some nice big brutes out of that area.... Good luck!
