Hot Weather Ruins The SC Rut Again

Well anyone who says global warming isn't real, you're kidding yourself.

This is the 4th year in a row where hot weather has killed the rut in my part of the state. Oh don't get me wrong does are still in estrus & bucks are chasing but their doing it in the middle of the night.

Because of work & because it gets dark at 5:30 now my of my time spent on stand is the weekends & Fridays. I haven't seen a deer in the afternoon for almost 2 weeks. Thats out of any stand.

Its been in the high 70s since last Friday & this weekend its suppose to be in the mid 80s & its November!!!!! After sun up deer movement completely shuts down.

This is so frustrating & it stinks!!!!!!! I hope you all are having it better than me right now.

Ha, It will be in the mid 80's in my neck of the woods as well. We'll see what happens this weekend when gun season starts!

Yeah, well I'll trade you some of that clear weather for these back to bacl gail-force winds and rain any day. It's been going on here for 4 weeks now with only a few short breaks between storms.
If it keeps up like this, I'll be forced to pick up the ol' 12 gauge instead of the bow to finish my season off.
I don't want to do that because I love bow-hunting and one of the properties I hunt is bow only.

Don't worry we are in the 70's here until tomorrow then low 50's for the next week. Going to be out every morning and night next week for sure.
