Did you get out and look for blood or anything? If not, you need to aas soon as possible. You can't just assume you missed because the deer ran off.

Excellent point lil!
You must check for blood after shooting
The shot might not have instantly killed the deer if you hit it, but it could have hit it and it might have ran off and bedded down somewhere nearby.
i dont think he did, he never said he looked for any nor, is her responding, if you didn't that's very irresponsible!
Sorry to hear about the miss, it happens! You did the right thing by clarifying that it was indeed a miss. Good luck next time out.![]()
Too bad you missed. It happens to us all.
Sounds like you missed.
Keep at it!![]()
OK, thanks for clearing that up. Sounds to me like you missed also.
If you couldn't find his tracks or where he was running. Then how do you know you were looking for blood in the right place? With a hard frost it should be easier to find his tracks, where he was standing when you shot. Since, you had a gun, you could go look right after you shot, so the frost does not have time to melt. I don't know but it seems to me that you didn't look in the right place if you couldn't find his tracks.
Anyway, sorry you missed, it happens to the best of us. Just, don't lose your confidence!!!!
