jim, normally i agree with you, but on this one. [img]images/icons/confused.gif[/img] if a deer is in your shooting lane, head down grazing, why on earth would you alert it to your presence?

if he's moving, then i would agree, maybe a little whistle or grunt might stop him for the perfect shot. hope that's what you meant.

I'm sure that is what Jim meant, as he said when a deer is coming to you.I have made just a small grunt to stop them, and it seems to work if they are not on full alert.

Good tip Jim ...you forgot to mention that you should be at full draw, when you make that whistle (or mouth call), otherwise, you may have just sealed your fate.

Good tip, have seen it in numerous hunting shows and it has worked all the time (at least all the ones aired on tv)
