Many times different bucks are in different moods or different states of mind.
So at any given time you may just have that big one show up. Always be ready.

Good tip ...Like wigs says, you can call in the bucks all the time, but during the rut, it is very hard to call a buck away from a doe. What you have to think about is getting the doe to come in and the buck will follow.
Since a bucks stomach isn't really his top priority during the rut, it is a good thing to rely on the does appetite instead.
If baiting is legal in your area, this is probably the best time to do it.
