found o'le big boy

yes folks i've found the big buck i missed last sunday morning. haven't to get to go hunting much since then because of an emergency at work and i'm needed there ,but got out about noon yesterday doing a little scouting around...(looking for scrapes)...there's a creek holler about fifty yards wide and 200 yards long running across the property. i never go in there except to cross the upper end of it to cross the back field to my stand...there is a scrape in the same spot as the last for seasons so i'm sure it's the buck i call o'le cedar....so finding this i deciede to ride my 4 wheeler around the creek holler to see if there are any more scrapes...of course i didn't have my rifle...and guess what happens ...i go fifty yards from the crossing to the south and o'le big boy jumps up and runs about 60 yards stops ,looks back at me and walks off.....well got my streatigy figured out for him...the weather is calling for rain later this week with a south wind...i'm going to ease down the holler to the south and hopefully find him in his bed or grt a chance at him if he spooks...wish me luck cause he's smart....he's been laying there watching me pass him 4 times a day going to my stand....well thanks for reading and giving me your time...oh yea do you all thinks my plan will work or should i take a stand early and just sit and wait for him....give me your input....

be very careful going into HIS bedding area. You can possible bump him once or maybe twice then he will probably move on to another spot.

Good luck Tom. This Thursday and Firday after the cold front pushes through should get any big boys that are still around moving good.

Be carefull with your plan you could loose him for good if you jumphim again and miss or dont have a shot

is there anyway you could try to glass down into the holler and try to find him before you go down in there.

in hunter the holler isn't 50 yards wide...and yes i can glass down into it ....i may have my nephew do a drive for me ...that'll work to ...

i would try to stalk him in the rain. but be carefull as to not get toooo close to him. i've found that if you spook him and your too close he will run a mile.

Should be a good time to try and sneak in on him this afternoon Tom. Either that or wait for him in the morning with the falling temps, bet he will get up and move around.
