    Default Indiana OBR

How do the other Hoosier hunters feel about the one buck rule? The group I hunted with this year killed 6 bucks. Two small, two pretty decent and one possible booner. It seems to be like the quality of bucks has risen the last few years

I have noticed a tremendous difference. Hunters now have to be picky about the buck they shoot. Where as before they could shoot a little one if they wanted then worry about getting a big one. Now the majority of them wait for the big ones and let the small ones pass.

Yeah. Theres a nice ong summary on the DNR website about it. There does seem to be quite a few more nice deer the past few years.

Dont really have an opinion on it myself. Where I hunt, i honestly can say i have seen no improvement in deer size. If anything i see more small dink bucks now then i used to. I never shot 2 bucks a year to begin with so it's not affecting me too much. I dont think the OBR is stopping people from shooting 2 bucks though if they set there mind to doing that. All there doing is having there wife/son/brother/etc. buy a tag and filling that one after they fill there own.

It's always been one buck only in Ohio. I can tell you from my perspective, that if you're a trophy hunter, you really get selective about what type of buck you'll shoot knowing that you only get one.
