If I'm not mistaken, it's shooting a deer facing directly away from you. Bullet travels through the rear end and supposedly hits the "heart" on its way out.
ive taken a few deer with a shotgun this way..works pretty well...just gets a lil messy thats all.
Doesn't sound like a very ethical shot to me.
Not a shot I would take.
I've seen it take 'em down, but you usually have to shoot 'em again, because it usually doesn't quiet reach the heart![]()

Ditto!
I know a guy who made that shot with a bow. Complete pass through and the deer only went 30 yards. I wouldn't take that shot myself though.

Me either. Would leave much of a blood trail would it??
I would pass on this shot!!
I passed on one such shot last night.
Nope, not a good angle at all.
Nope wouldn't take the shot, too easy to not make the shot correctly and have a very badly wounded animal. Plus it'd ruin the meat not only with the bullet damage but from the gut spillage and seepage into the meat.I can only think of one situation I'd ever try such a crazy shot and that'd be a badly wounded deer hobbling or walking straight away in a great deal of pain about to pass into somewhere where you can't legally kill it after that.
