My nephew's first buck.

My 12 year old nephew Ryan connected on this buck November 6, 2004. It was a spot I had scouted for my Dad and was going to put a ladder stand there for him. Well, my brother-in-law called me and told me he had bought a double-person ladder stand and if I knew a spot he could put it for him and Ryan. I told him we could put it in the spot I'd picked for my Dad and that way Ryan could also hunt with my Dad. Well, he didn't get the chance to hunt with his grandson. The first day they sat in the stand, this guy came sneaking along at 1:30 in the afternoon. Ryan made a great shot, dropping the buck in his tracks. It's a 9 pt that dressed out at 190 lbs. A great buck for a well deserving young man. He's a great kid, and I'm proud of him! Little jealous too..lol!

Thanks all. I am proud of him. For a 12 year old to sit in a stand from before sunrise to 1:30 is a feat in itself. He deserved it! He practiced shooting alot with his Dad and actually was out shooting him. He has really taken to the sport and he'll be good for the future of hunting. Ain't nothing that beats the smile of a young kid with their first deer!
