    Default Next season

In already looking forward to next deer season I see some good things. Sinse the close of deer season here (with the exception of special antless tags) I have seen a several large buck that have made it through. There is a large 6x6 that would score around 200" and at least a dozen more over 150" that I am aware of. Should have concentrated more on these deer during the season I guess, but I chased the elk around fruitlessly and spent some time hunting with my children, which was more important anyway. With the winter off to a mild start here, I can not help but look forward to next season. Has anyone else noted the survival of any big buck in your areas post season?

Have not noticed any big bucks around here this year at all. Been a really messed up year for us as far as hunting for bucks goes. Hopefully next year the weather will make for better hunting conditions than it did this year.

I'm afraid that I have no real optomism to report. Next year it will be a challenge to find a doe to harvest. The situation in my area has been pretty depressing for the last couple seasons.

I know of several nice bucks that made it through our seasons so far. I'm still hoping to get a crack at one with my flintlock next week, although I will only be able to hunt Thursday afternoon and Saturday.

I just got a stealth cam for Christmas and I am going to put it out in the summer and see if I can find some bucks that made it through.

Hopefully this spring while turkey hunting and trying to thin out the coyotes will see deer we never saw this fall, and maybe get some pics.

I spent 5 hours yesterday tramping around in some three day old snow and saw two sets of tracks. Does that count?
