    Default Tom Miranda\'s Bowhunting Encyclopedia

If you guys haven't watched Tom Miranda's Bowhunting Encyclopedia DVD yet (there was an article about it on the front page), you need to. You can order it from his site, www.tommiranda.com. It even comes autographed.

I've watched bits and pieces of it. Awesome hunts. It's over 3 hours. One disc of all whitetail hunts and 101 (yes 101) tips and bonus/bloopers. I absolutely love what he says about "The Can"! The second disc is all sorts of big game hunts from all over the planet. All bowhunting. I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone.

Yes Todd, pretty much the same. Some older ones too. His rhino hunt is unbelieveable, he and the guide actually get charged by a rhino.

Dont think I would ever buy a Tom Miranda video. Certainly not among one of my favorites, but I can stand to watch him on television some.

Just curious what do you guys have against Tom Miranda. I love his show, his enthusiasm for the sport. He's just one of the good ole' boys that made it big. I think he got his start as a trapper??

He's honest--if he makes a bad hit he will say so.

    I really like the guy!

Todd, Never really said I personally had anything against the guy, he just is not really one of those I prefer to watch and I would not be likely to buy a video he put out.

We have seen a few shows over the years that made me kind of maybe question his character somewhat. Think one show in particular my wife and I were watching and he was somewhere spear fishing and he seemed to be a little too big on himself. I may be way off base, but there is just something about his attitude at times the way he comes across in his show that does not set quite right with me. We do still watch his show from time to time though.

I think Tom Miranda is awesome! Definately one of my favorites. Realtree Outdoors/Road Trips, North American Whitetail Television and Advantage Adventures with Tom Miranda are my favorite shows.

Tom shows great emotion. He explains what tactics he's using and he admits when he makes a mistake. He said he shouldn't have taken a shot on a buck but his emotions got them best of him. He made a lethal shot, but it takes a great man to admit he was wrong. I think his show is one of the FEW that actually has great tips, this DVD comes with 101 of them. He even falls out of a tree to demonstrate the safety of the Summit Seat-O-The-Pants harness and how to get back onto the stand if you should fall. I really like the video. And what other video production comes autographed?

I'm a Tom Miranda fan, but I can see some people getting irritated by the way he phrases and accents some of his words- kinda dull and drab then he really accentuates the wrong words. Personally, I think he has some of the better videos I've heard. More informative than most.

I really dont remember for sure, but seems that one particular episode, the one I mentioned where Miranda was speer fishing somewhere he either said or did something that made my wife say "what a jerk" and remember that we actually agreed about it. Not too often she will comment on hunting shows, it is usually me that makes comments.

I agree with what Racksie says about his way of accentuating the wrong words at times and dont think that has any bearing on my opinion of him. We do still from time to time watch "advantage adventures" and it is not a bad show. Just not at the top of my list.

I personally like Tom Miranda a lot, but I can sure understand why he isnt popular. This might be a really far stretch but I would say he is half way between a normal hunter and Ted Nudget.

I can see that. He's as hardcore a bowhunter as Ted Nugent minus the whole insanity thing.
