Food Plots

I'm already planning for next season . I am planting Tecomate Lab Lab Plus this spring (1 and 1/2 acres), they say it is the stuff to plant in the spring.

Now, for the fall. The plot is 1 and 1/2 acres, and i want part to be annual, and part to be perrenial. I was thinking do a 60 % Perrenial and a 40% Annual, or 1 acre perrenial, and 1/2 an acre annual?

I think for the fall perrenial i am going to plant either Biologic Clover Plus, or Tecomate Monster Mix. And in the annual my friend gave me a 20 pound bag of Biologic Green Patch Plus which will do 1/2 an acre, it has the clovers that are perrenial, ill just disk them under and they will be gone. So what do you guys think of this? I love planting plots, its more fun to do than hunting for me. Thanks

As for going with 60% and 40% or going 1 acre and 1/2 acre, go with the latter. Seed bags usually come in sizes to plant 1/2 acre or increments of that.

I've not read much good reviews on Biologic products. I'm planning on adding a new plot where I hunt next year and I plan to plant the Tecomate Monster mix. Like you, I get a lot of enjoyment out of planting a caring for my plots.

Would steer clear of any biologic products. If you are after clovers, go with either the hamannfarms grower mix or the pennington rackmaster clover/rye mix. Spring plantings in the western part of Tennessee for clovers are not good. They do much better with fall plantings.

Thinking we might plant some lablab this spring. Our perenial plots are in pretty good shape, will just maintain them.
