Not much public land in Texas for hunting. You can check out the Texas Parks and Wildlife website that has info on a few places to hunt, not sure if any of them are close to you, though.

Most hunting in Texas is done one of two ways, either you own the land, or you get on a hunting lease. Your local newspaper should have a section in the want ads that list hunting oportunities. Also you could check your local feed stores.

Here is a link to the TPWD

What he said. And Advantage Max-1 is the best camo for West Texas.

You're too late for this season, but extreme SE Colorado has a lot of public hunting, but you'll need to put in for a draw.

Of course "not very much" is a relative term.

There's actually about 2 million acres available. Some of it is limited entry (special permit, fee required) and some is by draw only.

hey correct me if i am wrong but can you use that c'mere deer on public land here? i am not sure because back on the west coast you cant use anything not even a salt lick. You can barely use Sents and calls.

Depends on the particular piece of property. Some are under control of the TPWD and they have their rules, some is NFS and they have their's, some is in WMA's and they have their own rules. Just be sure you check with the controlling authority before you put anything out.
