    Default YOUR dream Buck

Just for fun what would you rather kill....

The sun comes over the hill......the wilderness starts to come to life......Suddenly you see a monster buck working your way.......but wait now you see not one but two monster bucks. One is a monster typical buck and the other is a monster non-typical. Both are well within range......You only have one tag and one shot.....
    WHICH ONE WILL YOU SHOOT????

ok back to reality....thanks for voting

Non-typical for me. I think they're much rarer and make a better mount.

Tough choice, really.... there is nothing like the beauty of a perfect typical rack, but I'll take the unique characteristics of a non-typical ...if that makes any sense

well last season i had a non typical buck that had a 5 point side and then the other side had a brow tine and then the whole rack was a huge drop tine, lemme tell ya i also had another deer on the farm that was a typical 8 that would prolly go 130's ........ if i had BOTH of those deer within range i'd prolly have to take the typical just cuz that would mean my first buck would go pope and young.... and that's just cool B) but the none typical, one of my buddy's had a couple diff shots at and held off cuz he's seen a deer that would go 170's or better he said.
any other day i'd kill the none typical, they just have allota character i like it

Really think it would depend on just how big they were and which one looked better to me at that point in time. I like tpyicals, but we do not see too many non typicals around here. If the non typical was bigger, I would probably take it, and hope that the other buck was still around for my wife or daughter to have a chance on that afternoon.

I like both but if it came down to a bunch of junk or graceful symmetry, a BIG typical buck with LOTS of mass for me.

I've been fortunate enough to harvest 2 typical whitetail deer that I'd consider monsters: a 149&3/8 incher and a bigger one I'm still waiting to get back from the taxi for an official score.

My wife came up with an awsome idea of naming the first Sir Lancelot. I then decided to continue naming them after the knights of the round table. The second monster buck will be named Sir Galahad. There's a method to the madness of my naming but I will not bore you all with it. If interested you can look up the knights at: http://www.timelessmyths.com/arthuri...able.html#List

Anyway, currently I'm ready for a non-typical (200+) monster buck that will receive the name Merlin (the wizard). I'd take King Arthur (200+typical), but would like to work my way up to that final accomplishment that would complete the collection. I'd love to place them in the dining room of my future house! My wife's not to keen on that idea (yet).

I'm 37 years old, but when it comes to hunting I still act like a dern 17 year old.

That's a no brainer for me. The Non Typical would get hammered. I might not even notice the typical other than a passing glance after I saw the Monster NT.

Heck it's easy for me because I've already got a B&C Typical on the wall. He's been waiting on a buddy that doesn't get dwarfed by him.

Non-typical here. Never seen one in person and would love a chance at one.

First I would draw on the one I thought I had the better shot angle on and best chance of a quick kill. All else being equal its hard to say, I've never seen a non-typical on stand, but you can't beat the beauty of a big, symetrical, classic typical rack. When I find myself in this situation I'll let you know.
