I've always thought the whole UV thing was a big fat gimmick.

Deer can see uv, however most hunting clothing detergents on the market that I am aware of do not have uv brighteners, so really any will work in that regard. May check out atsko's site, pretty sure sportswash is rated as being safe for all washable fabrics.

I use Asko's scent free soap and the UV killer. Had deer within feet of me. Never had the urge or need to buy a scent lok suit because of that

I kinda figure that's not needed, because of what was already said...obviously companies who make hunting apparel won't put brighteners in their clothing.

    Good luck!

It is for the times you wife mixes in your hunting duds with regular soaps that have brighteners.

Ditto! Haha!!! She stays away from the laundry room when I'm doing the hunting clothes She accidentally washed some of my hunting socks one time with the rest of the stuff...it was hilarious! She thought I was going to be really mad or something...she said "I messed up real bad, huh?" It was really cute, actually

    Take care,

This is just my own opinion because I am a broke boy from Illinois. I can personally say that I was in a "drinking establishment" and I talked to a guy that I knew that shot a deer that ranked high up in illinois with a longbow. Knowing that I was a smoker and so was he, I asked him about smoking in his treestand. Often times I found myself wondering if it was worth the extra hour in the stand if smoking relaxed me enough and took the boredom away. he simply replied to my question with a smile and said. "you know that big deer that I shot behind my house, I was smoking when I shot him!"

Now, this story is not meant to promote smoking, I have since been a NON-smoker for 1 year and proud to say that I quit. It is rather to prove the point that ANYTHING can happen. I have shot deer in tennis shoes and a black t-shirt from my treestand. I am a firm believer that as long as you are as quiet as possible and you blend in SOMEWHAT with your surroundings you are safe from a TREESTAND. On the other side, stalking or ground blind hunting is a whole different story.
