Does anyone know if the thermacel for mesguetos works. Or can deer smell it

it works good, i havent used it enough for deer hunting tho i usually use it for dove and turkey hunting..

Welcome to the forums.

It works and keeps most mosquitoes away while sitting, but is not 100 percent effective and does not work too well when walking. Had kind of had higher expectations of how it would perform with the swarms of biting deer flies here, but it really is not at all effective for keeping them away while walking to stands.

As to whether the deer can smell it, I can smell it so I am certain they can too. Do not think it bothers them too much though.

only problem i have had is when there is a breeze it doesnt work that great, other than that i love mine.

works great for hunting. it smells occasionally if something gets on the burner and starts to burn. When used properly, i've had deer under my stand without a clue I was there

They work great on MS skeeters and gnats. Matter of fact it's the only thing I've found that works on those darn no see ums.

wouldn't not be able to hunt in louisiana withouth it...we use them halfway through rifle season much less bow season. As for as having it in the stand with you it works awesome and is a must, but as for walking it doesn't work very well. As for the deer smelling, well i have had bunch make it into the freezer that haven't smelled it. It does have an odor that can be smelt but like stated above i dont think it really bothers them...
