    Question Rubs

Do bucks rub certain types of trees? Is there a way to tell what part of the rut it is based on a rub? I hunt in Columbia County Florida.

I might b wrong but a rub and a the rut are 2 different things.A rub or rub line is a way of marking his territory. They will run from a bedding area to a feeding area or from feeding to bedding.I usually see tree rubs in the begining of the season then ground scraps. When the rut occurs I dont think the bucks are worried about rubbin a tree. The smaller deer in my area like to rub pines for some reason. The buck I killed the other day was rubbin a large fir tree and a few oak.Like I said I might b totally wrong.A small deer will rub a big tree, but a big deer prefers a bigger tree.
Why should you carry a gun?Because a cop is to heavy.

Yeah I agree the rut and rubbing are different things, the rubs normally mark feeding and bedding areas
