    well the deer tags are filled the freezer is full, and is cold as crap out, guess that means its time to start fishing......let the steelheading begin, im leaving tonmarrow for the first trip of the year.

    Waters are a bit high and muddy here for fishing to be too good. But soon, very soon...

    Hmmm we have had our whole bay closed up for a few days, then it warmed up and we got rain and it opened back up. Our water is prime for ice if the air temps would stay low.
    Have had freezing rain on and off for the last 2 days...

    Besides Lake Michigan, some of our best steelhead fishing comes from several of the tributaries in the area. There is no ice to contend with, right now anways. Another local hot spot is the warm water discharges on the lake front that attract the salmon and trout.
